Screen Looks like a negative

Postby ktmtj » Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:48 am

I have replaced the color wheel on this set because of this site. I figured out why it was making so much noise.

I first decided I had to do somethng because one time the picture quit and the sound continues. The picture looks like a still, partial, photo as a negative to what was being displayed when this happens. I learn how to reset the unit by unpluging the set and holding in the power button for 10 seconds. The set came on and worked great.

It happened one more time recently and I unpluged the set and held in the power button and the thing turns right back on and works great. yesterday the picture did the same thing and I rest it and then very quickly the picture did the same thing again.

The picture is a still shot of what was being shown when it goes into this mode. It doesn't show everything but you can make out a lot of the images on the screen.

Any suggestions?

This is definitely a DLP chip issue, you need to change the DKP chip or the DMD board.
Please check this info:

:o After reading this you will comprehend that some of the micro-mirrors on the DLP quit moving.

Hope this info helps you and many others since this is a well know issue with Samsung TV's... :geek:
