Backstory-Was playing DVD went to get something to drink while left DVD playing came back TV is OFF.

I ordered replacement bulb, installed it today. No light comes on still 3 lights flashing on front.
When i hit power button on front it makes the noise like its turning on. listen
In the back can hear what sounds like the color wheel spinning but makes a ticking/clicking noise constantly while TV is trying to turn on. It will shut down and try turning itself back on 3 times, all the time making that same clicking noise.

Could it be the color wheel? Or something else?
Thanks

Hello,
too bad you missed it going out to spot for any color distortion.... clicking or buzzing sounds are more commonly related to the ballast not powering up a new lamp. I think it might be weak,to try it out you can remove the lamp for some hours, reinstall it and give it a go, if it turns on then you have a ballast issue for sure...

ok so no ignition even after the lamp is left outside of the set for a couple of hours... clicking sound no ignition no sound... is the sound coming form the colorwheel? does it kind of screech or grind a bit???

Hard to describe the clicking noise, its clicks the exact same time every time, this making me think its color wheel cause its spinning. But no other noise besides a click...click...click

if it is continuity clicking I lean more towards a ballast issue, anyone else care to chime in???

I have taken the color wheel out it looks fine spins fine no noise.

Id there a way to test the ballast at all? Besides swapping in another one?
