I've had my DLP for about a year and a half and have had no problems. Came home from town turned on the tv. The blue power up light comes on the green LED light flash's indicating the tv is starting up. It does this for a few minutes then red standby LED light flash's for a few seconds then the green on comes on again. This sequence of events happens about 5 times then all LEDs flash and blue power light goes off. I've spent some time now looking into this only to be told the LED light engine has problems. Can anyone help it would greatly appreciated

For what you're explaining, it seems that you need to replace your ballast.

This is a common symptom with Samsungs DLP TV's. Basically what is happening is:
- Your TV is "turning" ON
- Color wheel starts spinning up
- Ballast will try to ignite the lamp....FAILED
--TV restarts and try's again
- Your TV is "turning" ON

- Ballast will try to ignite the lamp....FAILED
--TV restarts and try's again

First try replacing the ballast.

I know next to nothing about DLP's with the LED light engine. Samsung says these don't have a color wheel. I also have been told they have no lamp either. Is this true? I will look into the ballast. Thanks.. much appreciated

Not sure if this is the right place to put this post but Im new to this.

TV: HLT6189S
Under warranty the DMD board (DP94-02307A) and LED driver board (BP96-01803B) was replaced.

Now less than 1 year later I have the same problem happening. When the tv turns on I have either green, blue or red saturation.

What is the problem? Can i do the repair at home?

Thx
