Samsung HL-R4266w DLP. Been a great tv. Never replaced the bulb. Yesterday the screen went all blue. Got audio, just a blue screen. No strange humming or sounds. Lamp from the rear appears to be working. Unplugged everything and left off for a few minutes. Removed lamp cover, while on, and detection switch turned off the tv. Turned back on and working normal for now. Any thoughts? Almost went and spent $1000 for a new led. Guy at locks electronics store, I won't name, said it sounded like the "light engine.".
Appreciate any thoughts.

It sounds like a light engine problem, and to be more specific to a DMD board issue. This is caused mainly by overheating.
 You can prevent this to get worst by opening the lower back cover of TV and vacuum all the dust inside.
 We also recommend you to let the TV breath a little bit more by improving the inner ventilation.
 Do not have the TV near a wall and if you can have a fan pointing towards the air vents near the lamp will help you a lot.
Please let us know if this prevent from happening again.
