I also belong to http://www.hometheatershack.com we have been working on this issue for some time. we found out the solder needs reflowed on the digital board for some issues. please check out http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/ ... blems.html for info.

the fix works for tv's that wont power on. lamp light on front flashes for so long and if you look at the back of the set you can see the lamp lighting up. no video or audio show up. then it powers off and standby.temp light comes on.

works on green plaid look on the screen. scrambled looking screen. tv's video comeing on but turns off and on by itself. no sound but video flashes on and off.

http://jdelectronicsinc.com/ this is the guy that does the reflow. he charged us $39.95 . a refurb board from www.samsungparts.com cost 188 dollars after you send in your old board for a core charge.

board part number BP94-02084A

Or you can just buy a refurb board from DM. Shouldn't cost that much!

This sounds like the issue I am having. Is it something I can order and install on my own?

Hello caraelizab.
When it come to replacing boards, you either have to be really handy with electronics or have a pro do it for you. You see these boards are very delicate when handling them, and also you have to be extra carful when installing them second you have to know what to disconnect, how to disconnect it and reassembling every thing again. I normally recommend people to do it theme selves when it come to lamps & color wheels. But when it comes to the boards, that’s another story.
Good luck.
