wd 82738

Postby scm37 » Sun Aug 10, 2014 10:36 am

Hi,

I just picked up a wd 82738. It supposedly just had a new lamp installed. green led blinking rapidly. Removed lamp door and propped switch to closed position with a screw driver. Then got a slow blinking red led. Reset doesn't do anything, just a click then another click, then red led blinking.

I found the main board, power supply board, lamp ballast, and formatter board, all for sale new along with a possible replacement, new color wheel. I just don't know which one to order.

What would the best choice based on my description be?

Thanks, Steve

Hello Steve,

If the light turned to just a red blinking light on the front, I would begin with taking a visual inspection of the lamp. Like I have mentioned many times before 90% of the time Mitsubishi TVs just need a new OEM lamp (I prefer to use Philips bulbs) like for your WD 82738 which uses a 915B441001 model lamp.

The lamp has to be Crystal clear with no darkening/whitening or any other stained glass portions, you cant test it for continuity because it has an arch gap.. Also the tip where it connects should not have a frosted film kind of like the car battery posts.

I hope this helps!
