Mitsubishi WD-65733 help.

Well hi everyone.

I seem to be having a problem with my 65733. I press the reset button, and wait for it to reset. Then when I press the power button for the tv I can hear one click and a slight whine for about 5 seconds then later the lamp, status, and timer light will flash really quick and the status light will blink red. It has been blinking red all day when I was at work. The screen will not even turn on. I just replaced a bulb from a authorized dealer.

I would like to attempt to fix this problem myself if It is not too hard of a task to tackle.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi cuseikan.

Did you close the lamp door? It has a switch that needs to be pressed in order to turn ON the TV.

And my t.v went out one night when I was watching it. It just turned off and the status indicator started blinking red.

Have you tried to unplug the TV, wait a minute, plug it back and try turning it ON again?

In mitsubishi's TVs after replacing the lamp and turning the unit back ON there should had been a message asking you if you replaced the lamp? Press ENT(er) for Yes or CANCEL for No.

Maybe is a problem with the fan that is in charge of cooling the lamp, your TV might has a Temperature sensor that turns the TV off in case of overheating. Check your fans for dust.

So I cleaned off all the dust. And still nothing.

I notice that when I press the reset button and attempt to turn on my tv that the lamp comes on. It lights up for a few seconds but does not turn on the screen. I can see the light from the lamps vent.

Do you hear just one click? It might be your ballast that can only reach the minimum voltage needed to turn the lamp ON for a few seconds and not enough to turn ON the screen.

Then it's most probably a ballast issue.

D-M means discount-merchant.com, they receive new parts once a week, so your ballast might be in-stock soon. Replacing it is not a big deal if you're handy, just a few screws and two connectors. You just need to be very careful of not to damage any other components while extracting the ballast from your TV.

HTH.

It was a ball of dust blocking a fan. Thanks for all the help!!
