52528 Mitsubishi Poor Picture

Postby edgarallen » Wed Nov 11, 2009 9:23 pm

My 52528 Mitsubishi has lost a great deal of clarity and detail on the HD channels. Lately after about ten minutes of "power on" the screen goes "blue". The LED light under the "timer" sign blinks quickly. Then after a minute the set turns off. If I power it back up it runs alright for some time before it goes through the same routine again. I figured it may be a lamp going bad, even thought the lights did not indicate that. I replaced the lamp, reset the timer and the problem still exists. Same poor picture and turning off by it's self. Any suggestions?? Could it be the ballast? If so any suggestions on how to replace the ballast??

Thanks,

hello, does the picture vary from Analog and Digtal channels? or inputs, like coaxial vs HDMI?

When you say that the picture goes blue, is it the whole picture, or is it the skin tones going to a blue or purpleish blue? I ask this because a color wheel sensor going bad can cause a color shift, and a loss of the pulse from the sensor will cause the TV to shut down.
