WD-62927 Green/pink screen after 20 min. HELLPP!!!

Postby awakeyesterday » Sun Jul 03, 2011 4:23 am

Hi, I have a wd 62927. I got the TV for free from a friend. I just replaced the lamp, but after 20 minutes of use the screen starts to glitch for about 5 seconds, then turns glitchy blue for 1/2 of a second and then everything remains Green/Pink/Purple. The picture looks clear and fine after that, but the colors are messed up. Everything that is supposed to be red is green. I know this because of netflix. The screen turns everything into a psychadelic looking picture. and yes, the menu is affected also.

If i unplug the tv and do a hard reset, the tv will turn on again and be fine for another 20 minutes and then the EXACT same thing happens again. There is also a red lamp light that's steady on when this happens. I could watch it all day in the green/pink state and it would work but it's extremely annoying. I've searched the internet for DAYS for advice. Someone PLEASE HELP.

there is no noise coming from the tv...people say the wheel squeeks whe its going bad right? also I shouldn't have said the picture is clear. There are some random glitch looking things when it happens too

hmmm this can also be a DMD board issue but lets hope not!

The colorwheel does not necesarily need to squeak or make any noises in order to malfunction it is just the most common way of noticing it. It can produce some flikering on the image but no drastic distortion... can you describe the distortion better or post a pic?

Well sometimes when the distortion hets back the screen will kinda split down the middle and the random visual "noise" looks electronic. It would be kind of hard to display with a picture. But the tv is very moody. Sometimes it will fix itself if left on...very odd...the screen down the middle thing makes me think its a big deal. The entire screen is visible but straight down the center the picture is halved into two different kinds of distortion or "noise"

follow the instructions for the wd-73732 sensor on the coloe wheel. it will make the color blotchy and messed up.
