LG ru44sz51d light tunnel repair

I bought an LG DLP that needed a lamp replacement. After I replaced the lamp I immediately noticed that the left side of the screen had a dark shadow that angled inward toward the bottom of the screen. I have read that many different Samsung DLP's exhibit this problem, but haven't come across anyone that has repaired an lg dlp. I assume they are very similar, but would like to know before I get in over my head. I don't know whether any of the mirrors will need to be replaced or if they just need some silicon reapplied. I'll continue to do some research on the issue. Thanks
