I have been having trouble with my tv not coming on. We have replaced the lamp once in April of 2009. My husband took the unit out and found that one of the strips on the optical block was torn. After placing everything back in, we turned the tv on and picture and sound came on, but the screen in blue with vertical pink lines across the entire screen of various widths. This morning, the tv looks as if it wants to come on but doesn't and the power light continuously flashes. Can you help?

First of all, do you get any strange noises coming from inside of the TV? Have you cleaned the inside of the TV free from dust & mold? The symptom that you are describing sound like a defective lamp, you might want to check if it’s shattered or foggy to be sure. Remember that a lamp life is measured in hours, so if you gave it long periods of heavy usage, its perfectly normal.
