I have a Panasonic PT-56DLX25 DLP TV that has vertical lines on the screen (see picture). The lines appear to be on the display. I disconnected the cable box and the lines still appear. If I shut the TV, the lines stay on the display for about 5 seconds and then the tv shuts off. Any ideas what could be causing this/what needs to be replaced?

I think this is going to be an issue with your DMD board... does it do this with all inputs?!?!

Yes. I have tried multiple inputs. The lines are still there no matter which input (Component, HDMI, etc.)

This can be a DMD board issue, in which case it would require the replacement of the complete light engine :(

Thanks. How much do you think this will cost to repair? Sounds like I may be looking for a new TV.

you may not have to , these HD large screens are a shame to dispose of, i found some on discount-merchant.com for around 300, :) and the installation is fairly easy, nothing to cut or solder ;) ...
as a field tech i used to charge 700 for the unit and 200 for the labor... :!:
