My dead Toshiba 62HM116

Postby CobraSnake7 » Mon Aug 22, 2016 11:37 pm

I have posted this info about 3 times in the last few months, and have never had any response. My problem is that my tv has no sound, and no picture. I replaced the bulb with no results. I got another bulb, put it in, also with no response. The yellow lights flash about 6 times, then do 6 again, and again, again, again. In the past, the tv would talk to me saying something like "bulb out" when the bulb did indeed blow out. Now, after replacing 2 bulbs, it says nothing. Can antibody help me?

Has the ballast been replaced before ? If not that could be your problem. The ballast will eventually stop putting out the voltage the lamp needs to ignite. It's a consumable part so eventually it will need replacing. Sometimes a weak ballast will make a rapid clicking sound or an electrical buzzing type sound. This isn't always the case but I would check to see if maybe you hear these sounds. If so I would definitely look into replacing the ballast. Hope this helps.
