toshiba 50hm67 new lamp not working

i have never had any problem with my tv just one nite the bulb went out i put a new one in and now it tries to start several times then the lamp led flashes yellow then it tries to start again after 8 or so tries the other two led's flash red and tv said bac lamp. i purchased my new lamp from advanced lamps.com i just called the toshiba 1-800 tech and they told me to slap the side of the lamp several times as they have mercurey in them and some times it settles after time. i did with same results as before so i am trying to send back the new/old lamp for an exchange. i will keep you posted hopefuly it is the lamp, has anyone had any problems with this company's lamps or returns? or let me know if you have any other ideas

I have the same problem with AdvancedLamp. They sent me a defective lamp and I have to pay the shipping for the RMA. I will never order anything from this company again.

The second one works, but found out that the problem is probably not lamp itself. It might be the light engine, so I am ordering that one now and see how it goes. The problem with my Toshiba tv is that, half of the screen is dimmed and the other half (left side) is okay. I thought that replacing the lamp will help, but it didn't. So I will keep looking for solutions and will see if the light engine will fix it.

well my lamp just blew out one night so i dont think any thing else is wrong with the tv
