62HM195 bad light engine?

Postby syvilnet » Wed Sep 29, 2010 10:44 am

I have a 62HM195 that has a green tint on it. The set is about 3 years old and has worked perfect the entire time. I think it may be the light engine going bad. I've tried unplugging for a few hours but it's still green on all inputs. The menu seems to work perfect with no green just any video coming in has this green tint. I've attached a photo so you guys can see what it looks like. If it's a bad LE what are you suggestions? The TV is a few years old and I'm not going to dump another $800 into it to fix :-/

 This could be a couple of things....

 Bad DMD (which is part of the light engine and contains the DLP chip)
 Bad Digital Video Board
 Bad Color Wheel

If menu looks ok there is a good chance that Digital board is not the issue, since menu bypass the digital board. :geek:
Change is the only constant, we must become the change we want to see.
