Tv turns off on its own.

Postby jruff » Thu Jan 28, 2010 1:31 am

I was having this problem a few months ago so I took it into a repair shop and they replaced the digital board, $250 parts, $100 labor. It worked fine for 2 weeks then started turning off again, randomly. The repair guys arent quite sure whats wrong yet. Any ideas? Its a 46 inch Samsung DLP. Ive replaced the lamp 6 months ago.

They replaced the digital board? Sounds like a ballast, colorwheel, power supply, or even the little blue switch in the back. What kind of lights are you getting in the front?

First of all how long ago did you buy your tv? Have you ever replaced the lamp? Have you clean the inside of your tv in the last 6 moths? Do you hear any strange noises coming from the back of the TV, other than the turning off randomly is there anything wrong with the TV?
