I have a Vivitel RP56HD21A that the lamp will crack after about 1500 hrs of use. The lensis cracked and the internal glass thing will be shattered. Anyone know why this is happening?

My first question is what brand of lamp are you using. The top of the line lamp is Philips (last from 6000+ hrs), OSRAM is a close second (4000+ hrs). how ever there are other more generic brands that last from 3000, 2000 or ever 1000 hrs.
The second possibility is that you have a defective ballast, that’s sending excessive voltage to the lamp, thus shortening the lamps lifespan.
The third is that you are using the wrong lamp, check the specification of your lamp online & compare with the one you have installed in your TV.
