Remove a Ballast from DLP TV (Toshiba)

Postby ChubbsTech » Tue Jun 08, 2010 8:23 pm

Hello all again.
Since I’ve been getting a lot of questions regarding how to replace a ballast, I final got a Toshiba 52HMX8 DLP TV in the shop that needed a new ballast so I took my trusty camera and started taking pic’s.
As a result here is my ballast removal guide.

1.- On the back of the TV you’ve got to remove some screws that are securing the back cover of the TV.

2.- You’ll notice that there is aluminum bar in the middle, you’ll need to remove it.

4.- You’ll be able to see the lamp enclosure along side the metal cage that hold the ballast.
