HLR6167 intermittant red-green tinting

Postby jrg5919 » Fri Jan 02, 2015 2:08 pm

Replaced lamp with Philips bulb but not with OEM housing. Contacts with new housing melted and had to replace ballast and used original OEM housing with the new bulb. Picture is great but after set is on for 2 hours it starts to get intermittent red to green tinting that lasts a few seconds then reoccurs in a few minutes. If the set is shut off for about five minutes it takes about ten minutes for the tinting to return. This happens on all inputs including cable, antenna, dvd. Never had this issue before. No noise is coming from the color wheel when this is happening.

Hey Jrg

Well it could be a problem related to the colorwheel motor going out or the DMD board sending a faulty signal.
