Lamp turning off intermittently HL-S6167W

Postby vieranole » Mon Jan 28, 2013 10:09 pm

This just started a few weeks ago. At first I thought maybe the bulb was hot but it has happened 2 minutes after first turning it on for the day, sometimes a couple hours afterwards, sometimes mulitple times in a row, and sometimes not at all. I haven't noticed it the past 4 days. What should I be looking at that could cause this so I can correct it?

Hey vieranole

usually when the unit turns off, there may be a light blinking on the front panel. Depending on the frequency and combination of that flashing, you can probably diagnose the issue if you still have the original manual

but it could be a possibility that maybe the fans aren't cooling the lamp so as a safety precaution the tv is turning off to prevent a "meltdown"
