Loud humming sound!

Unit is a Magnavox 50ML8150D/17. Manufactured Feb '06.
Got this from a friend and was hoping for some help/advice...
When I turn it on, I get a loud humming sound. I've cleaned as much dust as possible from the vents and both fans.
The fans do spin with power on.
I get picture on screen, but not sure it's at its best either. He replaced the bulb in Oct '09.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
