default brightness

Postby batrot » Tue Nov 10, 2009 4:07 am

I have a Samsung HLP5067W. Last year, I purchased a new bulb (unfortunately it was not apparently of the same quality of the Philips original, and I bought two of them), and its brightness really is poor.

Consequently, there are concentric rings, or outlines, around some subjects, especially in low light scenes.

I did notice when checking the hours usage that there is a menu item that seems to allow an increase of the voltage to the lamp. I think that's what it is for.

QUESTION: Is it all right to increase that voltage so that the lamp burns brighter?

Thanks,

Bob
