I have a Samsung DLP Model HL-R6168 WX/XAA TV and recently half of the screen will go dark, while the other half will display a picture. I thought maybe I needed to replace the original Phillips bulb (p/n: BP96-01073A (P), but was told that it might possibly be my Light Engine.

We have had a lot of remodeling in the house latetly and the back of the TV is covered with dust. Anyway, was hoping someone can give me some good advise based on the symptoms.

Had this problem with mine left side went dark found out the color tunnel mirror would come loose was lucky enough that it fell within the ext warr range from samsung and the fact paid for it set was approx 5 yrs old .
