i turned on the tv and heard a loud pop, the tv will not turn on and the green light for lamp is blinking,it is also making a currrrr sound coming out of the left side of the tv, i put in a new lamp in about 8 months ago. please help

That poping sound that you heard i'm pretty sure it was the lamp, the other thing is that sound i assume that it is a buzzing like electricity sound??? because if you hear that kind of sound it means that the ballast is not working properly and the electricity arc is not inside of the lamp it is outside on the ballast itself, so the ballast is the one that sends the voltage to the lamp so it is the one that can burnt out a lamp that fast, hope this info. can help you :ugeek:
