InFocus IN26+

I have an almost 10-year-old InFocus IN26+. The bulb was replaced about 3 years ago and the current has about 500 hours usage. Over the past three weeks, the image has become progressively lighter. You can barely tell there is anything there. This includes the start-up screen.
Any thoughts about the cause? Is it time for a new projector?

Do you know if the bulb in there now is an original or a compatible ? An original lasts longer than a compatible so that would be crucial information to know.
