replace philips LC4242 150W uhp with a 200W lamp

Got a problem with a projector? A DLP or LCD projector can have common issues. Why don't you check this forum out before running out to buy a brand new projector?

Hi, I wonder to know if is possible to replace tha original 150W lamp with a 200W.

I found also a lampdriver for the 200W, should replace it too ?

It really depends on the type of projector you have. The 150W is obviously a lot lower than the 200W. If you also replace the lamp driver, you're definitely going to have a compatible lamp and ballast, but was the projector made for use with 50W higher equipment? It might burn or melt something.

Eddie thanks for your answer.

The Projector is a Philips LC4242 and is a big one so the ventilation should be oversized. ;)

Another dubt is: for first should I replace the original 150W lamp with the 200W keeping the original lampdriver or should I replace both directly ?

I post the lampdrivers picture too (original and new one).

Regards.
