Plasma televisions have come a long way and are becoming more and more common for those who want blacker blacks, and amazing picture quality!

Panasonic Plasma Display - continual flicker

Postby gak » Sat Jul 09, 2011 7:51 pm

Have a 5 year old Panasonic TH-50PH9UK display (no tuner) and the screen has begun to flicker continuously....black lines breaking up the picture to the point where the picture is barely visible. Occasionally, screen will go black for a few seconds and then come back on flickering. It does this regardless of the input device, cable box or DVD. Any ideas?

Hello,

does the plasma tv shut off at any point? given the lines I have to say there's probably a notorious problem of an X or Y sustain that has to be replaced... more certainly the Y.

Hope this helps!
