Philips 37PF9431D/37

LCD Television technology has been around for a long time, but it keeps getting better. If you have a brighter room, LCD televisions will do a much better job at giving you excellent picture quality.

Hello,
I would assume this is some type of power supply or software issue. I guess we can start by describing in detail like temperature, does it shut down more when its hot? or less when the weather is cold?
Hope I can help!

I know that this could be considered thread necromancy since this thread is several years old, but I have a Philips 47" TV that was doing the same thing. Philips put out a firmware update that took care of the problem.

Hello cozwurth,

Don't worry that is what were here for, my TV is older than this thread! Way older!

So you also have a Philips 37PF9431D/37 ? And you updated the firmware, solved your problem, nice.

Do you happen to have a link to that update?

Thank you!

Grayfox,

My TV is model no. 47PFL7403D/27. I don't know how that compares to the model in the original post. The firmware update was listed on the Philips website:

http://www.support.philips.com/support/sms_page.jsp?userLanguage=en&userCountry=us Search for your model number, and it will list available items. I downloaded and installed firmware update LC81ULP-1.15, which is listed as correcting "TV turns OFF and ON by itself randomly when viewing TV and AV channels". I was even able to download the user manual for my TV since I bought it used and did not get one with it.

I just looked at the firmware file info for the TV in the original post, and it did not mention anything about random shutdowns like mine did.

Thank you for sharing the link!

I believe the biggest difference between the 47PFL7403D/27 and the 37PF9431D/37 is the screen size. but pretty much are made of similar components.
