Can new lamps be installed in LCD TVs?

I am not only a rookie but I am also NOT a TV repairperson and so, please forgive my rookieness.

I have a Samsung LNT3753HX receiver. All is working fine with the exception of the left side of the screen. The brightness in this area is not the same as the rest of the screen and therefore, I suspect that one of the lamps is showing signs of wearing out. Is this correct? Can these lamps be replaced by a non-TV technician like me? If so, are there some resources that I can reference to educate myself on the repair? Also, what is the best source for new lamps?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

Hey There,

I don't believe that there is an aftermarket for the backlit bulbs on monitors. You'll likely need to replace the whole monitor.
