LCD HDMI Connection

Postby jmcclain7 » Tue Jun 23, 2009 5:42 am

I just purchased a new LG 55 inch LCD. When I hook up the HDMI connection the picture is beautiful but I get no sound. The sound is great on the component, AVI & TV Cable connections. the cable is brand new and cost $100.00 at Best Buy. Can the new cable be bad? Could the cox cable HD box be bad or is there some other connection I need to make to get sound with the HDMI? Help

That's not really a question for this forum, but it's possible you have a video only hdmi cable, or you're not plugging it in the correct way. I've read there are some 1-way HDMI cables. I'd take the cable back for another one. You should also not have any other audio cable plugged in that will "override" the HDMI. Check your owner manual.
