Hi all
I just got this toshiba 46hm84 from a friend and he said if i can fix it I can keep it or not trash it . Well i plugged it in and no pic turns on and its making a weird noise loud too and it sounds like it shuts off and on . He said he put a new lamp in it so Im not sure what can be the problem. Thanks for any suggestions any help is needed

Hello well to be sure and to expand the life you are going to need a new lamp anyways, :shock:
If the sound is like a whirling screeching sound this can be a bad colorwheel.. :o
If the sound is more of a buzzing electrical sound it can be a weak ballast not igniting the lamp.. :(
