i have a Toshiba 72HM196 with what i believe to be a bad light engine, the top half of the picture displays properly and the bottom half is snowy, and it looks as there's a slight double image from the top half that can be seen through the snow.
just wanted an opinion before i pull the trigger and order one
i can post a picture if needed

Hi, Bill. I have a similar problem on my 56XM195. Did you order a new light engine, have you installed it, and did it solve your problem? My image also flickers; did yours, too? Thanks!

I have the same model with the same problem you have and was told it was the light engine have you done anything about it yet
