Necessities:
1. A Phillips screwdriver
2. A Pair of Pliers
3. A new Philips Lamp
4. 15 minutes of your time
NOTE: The bulb should be handled with a clean lint-free cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily…The oil residue from our hands can cause premature failure of the lamp if the front side of the lamp is not wiped down after the installation. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe with a clean, non-abrasive, lint-free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

This guide is for a Sony XL-5200. |

Examine the lamp and enclosure. |
|
Start by removing the screw on the side of the enclosure. |
|
|
Use a Phillips screwdriver. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
User pliers to disconnect the wire from the end terminal. |
|
|
Keep the pieces handy. |
|
|
|
|
Now disconnect the screw from the terminal on the side. |
|
You can now remove the lamp unit. |
|
|
Remove the clips holding the lamp in place. |
|
|
|
|
As you can see, the lamp is blown. Replace it with an OEM Philips UHP lamp. |
|
Time to put the lamp back into the enclosure. |
|
|
Screw the clip back in place to hold the lamp in place. |
|
Reconnect the ballast wires. You can start with the end terminal. |
|
|
DO NOT over tighten the terminal on the side. Too much torque can break it! |
|
Clip the back of the enclosure back in place. |
|
|
|
|
Screw the two pieces together. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

You're done! |
