Falsificación de lámpara UHP PHILIPS

Cuidado!!! Hay en el mercado Lámparas falsas (Clonadas) de reemplazo, que utilizan la marca PHILIPS. Hace unas semanas escribí un artículo en ingles sobre lámparas, copiadas e ilegales. El cual brevemente se hablo sobre las “copiadas”.

Una serie de lámparas clonadas han aparecido en el mercado recientemente. Estas lámparas son re trabajadas y reconstruidas a mano con partes baratas o chinas las cuales son de una pésima calidad y sin embargo tienen la marca de Philips impresa en el foco, asi confundiendo al consumidor. Atención! Estas lámparas NO SON de Philips, si va comprar una lámpara en alguna parte, verifique si son distribuidores autorizados!

Me trajeron a mi taller una TV-DLP que recién le había cambiado la lámpara y esta ya no prendía.

En la búsqueda del porque dejo de funcionar y con la aclaración del cliente que su lámpara “era nueva” tratamos de localizar el circuito culpable de esta anomalía.

Pasado un buen tiempo en revisar el equipo y estando todos los sistemas correctos e indicándome que la falla era la lámpara, saque la lámpara del portalámparas y efectivamente parecía “nueva” , incluso la marca y otros datos de verificación correspondían al fabricante Philips.

En una inspección mas cuidadosa note que el cristal (“cuadrado”) del frente de la lámpara no era igual que la original, así que tome una lámpara nueva original Philips, instalándola nuevamente en el televisor-DLP y sin mas encendió normalmente y sin problemas.

Porque Philips usaría un vidrio cuadrado en una lámpara redonda? Es muy obvio que NO.

Los falsificadores están reutilizando las lámparas dañadas de Philips, quitando el cristal redondo (este se rompe al quitarlo de su lugar) y sustituyendo por otro cuadrado y el “filamento” por uno genérico y sin garantía alguna.

Philips usa una tecnología que esta por patentarse, la cual involucra maquinas extremadamente caras, las cuales usan un laser para alinear el filamento. En cambio los filamentos de terceros no tienen el capital para adquirir esta maquinaria tan cara, la cual los obliga a hacerlo a mano, lo que ocasiona una caída extrema en calidad.

El cliente Pago nuevamente por el servicio más el costo de la lámpara y no pudo reclamar al que le vendió la lámpara.

Do NOT purchase generic brand lamps such as LTI, APO or third-party manufacturers such as OSRAM. These lamps were NOT engineered with and for your TV… only your Philips lamp has been engineered to work flawlessly and output the best possible color. Above that, it just doesn’t make sense to choose an aftermarket lamp for a $5-$10 difference (and in many cases they are more expensive!!). Be a smart consumer and do your research!

Necessities:

• Standard Philips screwdriver
• Pair of Pliers
• A new Philips Lamp
• 15 minutes of your time

IMPORTANT: The bulb should be handled with a clean cloth at all times to avoid any dirt or oil. Our hands are naturally oily… this is a no-no for these lamps. It doesn’t hurt to do a final wipe down with a clean, non-abrasive, lint free cloth before reinstalling your lamp…

Locate the lamp door by going to the back of your television.

Step 1: First thing we need to remove the screw holding down the metal cage and pull up on the handle in order to remove the metal cage…

Now we need remove the metal clips holding down the lamp into place. There are a total of 2 clips and 3 screws to remove.

Then loosen the connector by removing the two screws attached to the connector head…

Now we can pull out the lamp from the enclosure …

We continue by removing the screw on the lamp in order to remove the cable…

Now we remove the nut and take the connector off to install on our new lamp…

Here are a few pictures of the original PHILIPS bulb and the replacement PHILIPS bulb we will be installing…

Notice that the original part is a PHILIPS and not OSRAM!

Now we start by re-installing the connector on the new Philips vented lamp with the adapter…

We continue by reseating the lamp into place and screwing the clips and connector back on…

Now we put the metal cage back into place and screw it down…

voilà…

We are now DONE! 5-10 Minutes MAX! Look at this beauty…

Now that wasn’t too hard was it?

Make sure the TV is on and: 1) Press and hold ]]> This mini-guide should enable you to view and reset your TV lamp hour counter.  It’s always a good idea to reset this counter when changing lamps.

Make sure the TV is on and:
1) Press and hold the Menu button on your TV SET
2) Press and hold the Menu button on your REMOTE CONTROL (at the same time)
3) Continue holding BOTH buttons down for 5 seconds or until the Service Menu pops up
4) Release the MENU button from your REMOTE CONTROL, then release the MENU button from the TV Set.
5) Press and hold ENTER (or OK) on the TV Set, then:
6) Press and hold MUTE on the REMOTE CONTROL (while still holding down the ENTER button on the TV SET
7) Holding both buttons down should lead to the Lamp Life Hours screen to pop up.
Release the MUTE button the REMOTE CONTROL, then release the ENTER (or OK) button on the TV Set.
9) Come back to this blog and post your HOURS on our site
10) Now press SELECT, then SELECT again to confirm the reset of the counter

** If the procedure above does not work swap steps 5 & 6.

** For a few special models (including 44SZ8D), you might have to change step 5 to:
5a) Press Enter on the TV Set to enter the Position Adjustment Screen
5b) Press and hold Enter on the TV Set (the TV should go back to the main Service Menu, continue holding Enter) and now also hold down the MUTE button on your REMOTE CONTROL.  After about 5 seconds, your Lamp Life Counter should pop up.
