- Electric Philips screwdriver
- needle nose pliers or a 5mm nut driver
- antistatic gloves OR plastic gloves used with an antistatic wrist band

Replacing the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

4719-001997 DLP Chip, Samsung HL61A750A1 RPTV

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel. Put the screws to one side and remove the back panel.

Step 2

Step 2: Loosen the two screws holding the lamp bracket in place.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 4

Step 4: Carefully remove light engine from the cabinet.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 6

Step 6: Carefully disconnect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 7

Step 7: Disconnect the clip connecting the cooling unit.

Step 8

Step 8: Remove the cooling unit and terminal board.

Step 9

Step 9: Remove the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Loosen the 7 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 11

Step 11: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 12

Step 12: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 13

Step 13: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to static electricity.

Step 14

Step 14: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 15

Step 15: Tighten the 7 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 16

Step 16: Replace the terminal board’s cover.

Step 17

Step 17: Reconnect the clip holding the cooling unit.

Step 18

Step 18: Re-connect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 19

Step 19: Tighten the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 20

Step 20: Carefully replace the light engine back into the cabinet.

Step 21: Replace and tighten the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Re-connect all the connectors.

Step 22

Step 22: Put the light engine back into the RPTV. Tighten both screws that keep the back bracket in place.

Step 23

Step 23: Put the back panel onto the TV. Put the screws back into place and tighten. Enjoy the crisp, clear picture on your Samsung HL61A750A1C1.

Before contacting your service rep or paying for a costly check-up, try these 5 troubleshooting tips.

Check your power: Is the power cord plugged in? Is the main power switch to the projector turned on? cord. Has it come loose? Check to make sure the power cord is plugged in and the main power switch is turned on if the projector—including the fan, doesn’t operate at all.
Check your connections. Is the image source connected to the projector? Are the cables between the projector and computer secure?
Check your batteries. If you usually turn on the projector through the remote control, check the batteries.
Check your temperature. Your projector has a built-in safety feature that shuts down the projector if it starts to overheat. Check that the filters are clean so air can circulate and keep the projector from overheating and shutting down. Your projector will have a status indicator that will flash if the projector is overheating.
Check your lamp. If the projector lamp has exceeded its lamp life, the projector automatically stops working. The Lamp Replace indicator on the projector will be lit up or perhaps blinking. You may also have noticed a change lamp message appearing on screen (have you been ignoring the message?). Be sure to buy only genuine projector lamps from an authorized dealer.

If none of these steps work, then consult your manual and call you local service representation for an appointment to check the computer.

If you’ve run through this checklist and your projector is still not working, contact your local repair centre.

Equipment needed

- Electric Philips screwdriver
- needle nose pliers or a 5mm nut driver
- antistatic gloves OR plastic gloves used with an antistatic wrist band
- soft cloth or brush

Replacing the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel. Put the screws to one side and remove the back panel.

Step 2: Loosen the two screws holding the lamp bracket in place.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 4

Step 4: Carefully remove light engine from the cabinet.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 6

Step 6: Carefully disconnect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 7

Step 7: Disconnect the clip connecting the cooling unit.

Step 8

Step 8: Remove the cooling unit and terminal board.

Step 9

Step 9: Remove the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Loosen the 7 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 11

Step 11: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 12

Step 12: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 13

Step 13: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to static electricity.

Step 14

Step 14: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 15

Step 15: Tighten the 7 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 16

Step 16: Replace the terminal board’s cover.

Step 17

Step 17: Reconnect the clip holding the cooling unit.

Step 18

Step 18: Re-connect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 19

Step 19: Tighten the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 20

Step 20: Carefully replace the light engine back into the cabinet.

Step 21

Step 21: Replace and tighten the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Re-connect all the connectors.

Step 22

Step 22: Put the light engine back into the RPTV. Tighten both screws that keep the back bracket in place.

Step 23

Step 23: Put the back panel back onto the TV. Put the screws back into place and tighten them. Enjoy the crisp, clear picture on your Samsung HL56A650C1/FXZA.

3 Steps to a new BenQ PB8220 projector lamps

Replacing the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp can be done in three easy steps.

Follow our quick, easy guide for a new BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp in the BenQ PB8220 projector.

When it’s time to replace the projector lamp in your BenQ PB8220 projector the LED on the projector will light red and reminder messages will appear on screen.

Step 1: Buy an authentic projector lamp

You can expect up to 3000 hours with BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp as long as you buy authentic. OEM projector lamps are superior to generic lamps currently sold at discount prices on the Internet.

Step 2: Replace the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 lamp

Before installing: Disconnect the power cord and allow the projector to cool for one hour before replacing the lamp. The BenQ PB8220 projector operates under high heat and can cause burns if it’s not cooled down enough.

The lamp lid for the BenQ PB8220 is found on the bottom of the projector. Be sure to protect the top of the projector before turning it over to access the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 lamp.

Loosen the screw holding the BenQ PB8220 lamp cover in place.

Remove the BenQ PB8220 projector lid and place it to one side.

Remove the screw holding the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp in out of the projector. Be sure to dispose of the used BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp through a local recycling program. Don’t throw this projector lamp into regular garbage as it contains mercury.

Inset the new BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 lamp all the way into the BenQ PB8220 unit.
Tighten the screws holding the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp in place.
Replace the lid on the BenQ PB8220. You’re now ready to reset the projector lamp timer.

NOTE: The BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps!

Step 3: Resetting the lamp timer

In order for the BenQ PB8120 to correctly track the lamp life of your newly installed BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 projector lamp, you’ll need to reset the lamp timer.

Press the Exit button on the projector for 3 seconds to display the total used lamp time.
Press the MENU button on the projector during the lamp hour message.

An adjustment message will appear.
Press the arrows to reset lamp hours to zero. Press EXIT to leave.

Extending the life of the BenQ 60.J3503.CB1 lamp

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Use the Lamp Power option on the BenQ PB8220 and set to Economic Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend lamp life.
