Press the MENU Button to display the MAIN MENU. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT button and scroll right to select SETTING.
Press the SELECT button to display the SETTING DISPLAY menu.

Move the red arrow to the LAMP AGE and then press the SELECT button.
The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” appears. Move the arrow down to YES and press the SELECT button.

Remove the two screws on the Sanyo PLC-XF45 Lamp Cover located on the top of the projector and press the top button to open the Lamp Cover.
Choose which lamp needs to be replaced. BE SURE TO PICK THE CORRECT LAMP THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
Loosen the two screws holding the Sanyo POA-LMP49 (service parts no 610 300 0862) lamp in place.
Grab the handle and gently pull out the defective lamp. Place to one side. Be sure to dispose of the used Sanyo POA-LMP49 lamp through a local recycling program. Don’t throw this lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury.
Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP49 (service parts no 610 300 0862) lamp by the handle and gently guide it into place.
Tighten the two screws holding the Sanyo POA-LMP49 lamp assembly in place.
Replace the Sanyo PLC-XF45 Lamp Cover and tighten the two screws to put the lamp cover back in place.
Reset the Lamp Counter following the instructions below.

LAMP COUNTER RESET FOR SANYO PLC-XF45

Turn the Sanyo PLC-XF45 projector on.
Press the MENU buttons to open the ON-SCREEN MENU.
Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button to get the red frame pointer to move to the SETTING menu icon.
Press POINT DOWN button to Lamp counter reset. Press SELECT.
Move the arrow to the replaced lamp number (Lamp 1, Lamp 2, Lamp 3 or Lamp 4).
Press SELECT. BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT LAMPS.
The message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” will be displayed with YES or NO underneath.
Move the pointer to YES. Press the SELECT button.
Move to the second confirmation box and select YES.

NOTE: BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT LAMP otherwise the lamp replace indicator will continue lighting YELLOW.

Reset the Lamp Counter following the instructions below.

LAMP COUNTER RESET FOR SANYO PLC-UF15

Turn the Sanyo PLC-UF15 projector on.
Press the MENU buttons to open the ON-SCREEN MENU.
Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button to get the red frame pointer to move to the SETTING menu icon.
Press POINT DOWN button to Lamp counter reset. Press SELECT.
Move the arrow to the replaced lamp number (Lamp 1, Lamp 2, Lamp 3 or Lamp 4).
Press SELECT. BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT LAMPS.
The message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” will be displayed with YES or NO underneath.
Move the pointer to YES. Press the SELECT button.
Move to the second confirmation box and select YES.

NOTE: BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT LAMP otherwise the lamp replace indicator will continue lighting YELLOW.

RESETTING THE SANYO POA-LMP49 (610-300-0862) LAMP MODE

You can set the lamp mode to use either four lamps or two lamps. Using 2 lamps will prolong the life of the projector lamps.

To change the lamp mode:
Press MENU button so the ON-SCREEN Menu will appear.
Using the POINT LEFT/RIGHT button move to SETTING. Press SELECT button.
A second dialog screen appears.
Press the POINT DOWN button to move to LAMP MODE.
4 lamps mode using all lamps. Picture will become brighter.
2 lamps mode using only 2 lamps. Picture will become darker
NOTE: You must wait 90 seconds after changing the Lamp Mode before changing it again.

Tips to make your Sanyo POA-LMP49 lamps last longer

Extend the life of your newly installed Sanyo POA-LMP49 (service parts no 610-300-0862) by following these helpful tips:

Wait at least five minutes before turning the Sanyo PLC-UF15 projector off.
Don’t operate the projector continuously without letting it stand for at least one hour turned off every 24 hours.

Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

1. Underneath the Sanyo PLC-XL40 projector you’ll find the Lamp Hazard cover. Gently turn it upside down protecting the top of the project.Using a Philips screwdriver loosen the screw holding the cover in place. Put the cover to one side.

2. Remove the two screws on either side of each the POA-LMP90 (610- 323-0726) projector lamp. Grab the handle on the lamp cage and gently lift out the lamp. Place to one side. Don’t throw this lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury — send it to a local recycling program where it can be disposed of properly.

3. Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP90 (service part no 610 323 0726) lamp cage by the handle and gently maneuver it into place.

4. Avoid touching the glass or the bulb. The lamp should slide in easily – don’t force it. Once the lamp is in, tighten the screws on the Lamp Assembly.

5. Replace the Lamp Hazard Cover and tighten screws.

6. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the Sanyo PLC-XL40 projector.

Step-by-step installation of the Sanyo POA-LMP35 projector lamp

CAUTION: Follow these safety procedures before replacing the lamp:

Turn off the projector, unplug the AC cord.
Allow the Sanyo PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 projector to thoroughly cool for at least 45 to 60 minutes. These projectors operate under high heat and there is a possibility of being burned.

The lamp cover for the PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 is located at the bottom of the projector. Gently turn over the projector onto its side and loosen the screw holding the cover in place. Place the cover to one side.
Loosen all three screw holding the Sanyo POA-LMP35 (610-293-2751) lamp in place. lamp cage in place. Grab the lamp handle and gently lift the lamp out of its socket. Place to one side. Be sure to dispose of the lamp properly through a local recycling program.
Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP35 (service part no 6102932751) lamp cage by the handle—avoid touching the actual bulb as this can break or damage the lamp. Without forcing the lamp, place it into the slot.
Once the lamp is in, tighten all three screws on the Sanyo POA-LMP35 Lamp Assembly. Make sure the screws have been tightened properly or the PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 projector will not turn on.
Replace the Lamp Cover and tighten the screw. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 projector.
Reset the Lamp Replace counter by following the instructions below.

NOTE: Be sure to properly recycle your used Sanyo POA-LMP35 (service part no 610-293-2751) lamps. Since they contain mercury they can’t be placed into regular garbage.

Resetting the Lamp Replace Counter

In order for the projector to properly track the lamp life of your Sanyo POA-LMP35 (service part no 6102932751) you’ll need to reset the Lamp Replace counter on the Sanyo PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 projector. Failure to do so can result in the Replace Lamp Indicator not tracking the lamp life properly.

Make sure the Sanyo PLC-XU33/PLC-XU38 projector is turned on.
Press the MENU button to access the ON-SCREEN MENU.
Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT button to select the SETTING menu.
Press the SELECT button to open the SETTING MENU option.
