Before replacing the Sharp PG-F200X projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

  • Press STANDBY/ON on the projector or STANDBY on the remote control to put the projector into standby mode.
  • Wait until the cooling fan stops.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Unplug the power cord from the AC socket.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least one hour. If should be cool to the touch. The Sharp PG-F200X projector uses high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

Turn over the Sharp PG-F200X projector onto a soft service and loosen the user service screw that holds the projector lamp cover on place. Slide the cover off away from the projector and place it to one side.

Hold the Sharp AN-M20LP projector lamp projector lamp by the indents and gently pull up. DO NOT tilt it.

Take the new Sharp AN-M20LP projector lamp and gently press it into the lamp. Align the top tab on the lamp unit cover and place it while pressing the tab to close it. When it clicks into place, tighten the screws. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers left on the lamp will burn black holes onto the lamp that appear on screen.

Slide the lamp cage cover back on in the direction of the projector. Tighten the screw holding the cover in place. Plug back in the AC power cord. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

To reset the projector lamp timer:

  • Hold down MENU/HELP, ENTER and the down arrow on the projector and press the STANDBY/ON button on the projector.

  • Chose the ECO MODE mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.

Replacement Warning Signs

You can expect up to 3000 regular hours when your Epson PowerLite 470 projector is set to normal consumption and up to 4000 hours if the ECO power consumption is turned on. When it’s time Epson PowerLite 470 projector lamp to replace the lamp, you will see these warning signs:

  • The projector lamp indicator flashes orange.
  • A message telling you to replace the lamp appears on screen as soon as the projector is turned on.

Keep your projector working

Installing the new projector lamp

Pre-installation Preparation:

Lift up the wire handle on the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp and gently pull the projector lamp out of the Epson PowerLite 470 projector lamp. Don’t knock the actual bulb as it may break.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Replace the lid on the Epson PowerLite 470 projector.

Tighten the screw on the projector lamp cover. Reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the lamp timer

The projector lamp timer will need to be reset after replacing the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp. This timer helps the Epson PowerLite 470 projector to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the timer when a new Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp has been installed, otherwise the projector will NOT know when it’s time to replace the lamp. You run the risk of damaging your projector.

  • Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
  • Scroll down to the RESET. Press ENTER.
  • A prompt appears asking if you want to reset the lamp hours.
  • Select YES. Press ENTER.
  • Press the MENU button or ESC to exit the menus.

The lamp hours will be reset to zero. The lamp usage timer shows 0H until you’ve used the lamp for at least 10 hours.

Extend projector lamp life

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP71 with the following tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Turn off the Epson PowerLite 470 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Once you’ve bought your projector and screen for your church’s multimedia set-up, the church lights are the next important step. Here’s a breakdown of the church lights you can get for your church stage.

3 different types of church lights

Stage lighting falls into 3 types or what the industry calls buckets:

Hard-Edged lights: Often referred to as spots, these lights give off a hard-edged beam, which gives hard, crisp shadow making them the easiest to control. Common spotlights are the ellipsoidal, moving head spot and followspot.

Soft-Edged lights: Give off a smooth light so are best for washing the stage in color. They are harder to line up with things on stage but do give off softer lights. Commonly types are head beams that move or pin spots.

Controlling on/off

Controlling the intensity of lighting can make all the difference to your presentations. Being able to control your church lights helps prevent that jarring effect when the lights are switched on or off. DMX dimmer packs let you control both your conventional stage lights and any additional lighting systems you install. NOTE: LED lights can be dimmed since they will burn out immediately.

Control boards

The final piece to your lighting system is a lighting console. This is a main board allowing you to control all the individual fixtures or a group of lighting. The console will have controls that move up or down so you can lower the intensity, do fades and transitions or let one group of lights stay on while others turn off. There are a variety of consoles on the market and some of the more budget conscious options are excellent choices for giving you all the control you need.

Right cabling

Be sure to invest in the proper cabling for your lighting system. Simple extensions cords won’t cut if and can cause power outages. Look for cables with a DMX capability with a 14AWG notification so it can handle the electrical load your system will need.

You turn on your projector or RPTV and after a few minutes you hear a loud pop and see smoke. Your projector lamp has just exploded.

First of all relax. Your projector lamp is in a plastic cage so most of the damage is going to be encased. It’s bang is worse that the clean-up.

Here’s what to do when the projector lamp shatters:

  • Turn the projector/RPTV off immediately. Unplug the AC cord.
  • Wait for the projector/RPTV to cool down.
  • Open a window to ventilate the room. Avoid breathing in any dust from the projector lamp.
  • Check there are no broken shards or pieces of glass around the projector lamp or coming out from the cooling air circulation vents. Check the interior of the RPTV.
  • Use rubber gloves to pick up any shards or broken bits of projector lamp sticking out. These lamps contain mercury so don’t handle any shards with bare hands. You can also try using some duct tape to pick up small shards.
  • Place the projector lamps shards in a closed container such as a box or plastic bag. This will stop the dust and mercury vapour from spreading. Don’t put the container into the regular garbage or down the drain. Send the remains to a hazardous waste facility near you.
  • Don’t attempt to clean up the inside of the projector if there is a lot of broken parts or dust. Take the projector into an authorized service station. They will clean the inside of the projector thoroughly with a mercury vacuum cleaner. Never use a regular vacuum cleaner to do this. Ask the service technician to do a thorough check of the unit paying attention to the ballast and color wheel.
  • Be sure to install an authentic projector lamp. Avoid generic compatible lamps as they are prone to exploding more often than authentic OEM lamps.

How to replace the JVC DLA-HD1 projector lamp

When it’s time to replace the JVC DLA-HD1 projector lamp follow this guide.

  • Tighten the two screws on the new JVC BHL-5009-S lamp.
  • Replace the JVC DLA-HD1 projector lamp cover. You’ll need to reset the Lamp Counter.

 

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Every time you replace the JVC DLA-HD1 projector lamp you need to reset the lamp timer to zero. Not resetting the lamp timer will result in your projector not turning back on because it thinks the old lamp has not been replaced.

To reset the lamp:

  • Press the exit button on the remote control.
  • Press the Enter button
  • Press the Hide Button
  • Press the down arrow button
  • The Lamp indicator and Standby indicator will blink alternately for 3 seconds. After that, the unit switches to standby mode. The lamp timer will be reset to zero.

Tips for longer projector lamp life:

  • Avoid frequent on and offs to avoid power surges.
  • Don’t let the JVC DLA-HD1 projector overheat as this puts stress on the lamp. Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
  • Let the projector stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
  • Keep the air filters clean and free of dust so it can do its job and keep the projector lamp for overheating.

  • Loosen the screw holding the projector lamp cover into the projector. Place the cover to one side.
  • Loosen the two screws keeping the Sanyo POA-LMP126 projector lamp in place. Grab wire handle and gently pull the lamp out taking care not to hit the lamp.
  • NOTE: Your old projector lamp contain mercury and can’t be placed into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp.
  • Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP126 projector lamp cage by the wire handle and gently maneuver it into place. Avoid touching the glass or the bulb since the oil from your fingers may cause black spots on the bulb when the projector heats up.
  • Tighten the two screws on the Lamp Assembly for the Sanyo POA-LMP126 .
  • Tighten the screw on either side of projector lamp cover. Let the projector stand for five minutes so the projector lamp can stabilize. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the Sanyo Promethean PRM20A projector. You’ll need to reset the Lamp Counter.

  • Resetting the projector lamp timer

  • Turn the projector on

  • Press the DOWN button and a red-arrow icon appears.
  • Scroll over to LAMP AGE and then press the SELECT button.
  • The message “LAMP REPLACE MONITOR RESET” is displayed.
    Select YES to reset the Timer.

  • Unplug the AC power cord on the Sony VPL-AW10 projector.
  • Your Sony VPL-AW10 projector uses the Sony LMP-H160 projector lamp. Before installing the lamp, let the projector cool for at least 40 minutes. It should be cool to the touch.   • The projector lamp cover is on the bottom of the projector so you will need to turn it over. Put down a soft cloth on a flat surface to prevent the projector getting scratched. Loosen the 3 screws on the Sony LMP-H160 projector lamp using a Phillips screwdriver. Sony_VPL-AW10_projector_Sony_LMP-H160_remove_lamp

Grab the wire handle on the Sony LMP-H160 projector lamp and gently pull the lamp straight out. Take care not to bang the lamp as you can cause the bulb to break.

NOTE: The Sony LMP-H160 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

Lift up the handle and slowly lower the Sony LMP-H160 projector lamp into the projector. Push it in securely until it reaches the end. Tighten the three screws on the lamp. Replace the lamp cover.

  • Remove the filter holder. The air filter will be inside the holder. Don’t touch the fan inside as this can damage the projector. Sony_VPL-AW10_projector_Sony_LMP-H160_replace_air_filter
  • Remove the old Sony VPL-AW10 filter and put it to one side. Attach the new air filter so that is fits into the 10 claws properly on the holder.
  • Aligning the air filter with the shape of the filter holder will make it easier to install. Sony_VPL-AW10_projector_Sony_LMP-H160_new_air_filter
  • Be sure to put the air filter holder back into the projector aligned up properly. If not, the projector will not turn back on!
  • Wipe off any dust. Put the projector back in its original position.

Resetting the Sony VPL-AW10 projector lamp

  • To reset the projector lamp timer, plug the AC power cord back into Sony VPL-VW40 projector
  • Using the remote, scroll down to the Setup Menu.
  • Press Enter.
  • A Lamp Setting message will appear asking you if the projector lamp has been replaced.
  • Click on Yes.
  • You will see a confirmation message and the Projector Lamp Timer will be automatically reset to zero.

Loosen the screw that secures the BenQ DX818ST lamp cover on the side of the projector until the lamp cover loosens. Remove the BenQ DX818ST lamp cover from the projector. Disconnect the BenQ DX818ST lamp connector. Loosen the screw that secures the lamp in place

Slowly and gently pull the BenQ 5J.J9A05.001 projector lamp out of the projector. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The BenQ 5J.J9A05.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. It needs to be properly recycled. Insert the new lamp.

Make sure the handle is fully locked. Re-install the lamp connectors. Tighten the projector lamp screw. If the screw is too loose or too tight, the projector may not turn on.  Replace the lamp cover. You are now reacy to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the projector lamp counter

When the BenQ 5J.J9A05.001 projector lamp in the BenQ DX818ST projector has been changed the projector lamp timer must be reset to zero. To reset the lamp timer:

  • Turn on the BenQ DX818ST projector.
  • After the startup logo, open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
  • Go to the SYSTEM SETUP.
  • Scroll over to Advanced > Lamp Settings menu.
  • Press MODE/ENTER to display Lamp Settings page is displayed.
  • Highlight Reset lamp timer. A warning message is displayed asking if you want to reset the lamp timer.
  • Highlight Reset and press MODE/ENTER. The lamp time will be reset to “0”.

How to extend the life of the BenQ DX818ST projector lamp:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Use the Lamp Power option on the BenQ DX818ST projector lamp and set to Economic Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend lamp life.

Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector, Sanyo POA-LMP131This guide shows how to replace the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector lamp.

Your Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector lamp has between 2,000 to 3,000 hours before it needs to be replaced. This may be less if your filters are not cleaned on a regular basis.

When it’s time to change your lamp you’ll notice a flashing yellow light on the Lamp Indicator and the Replace Lamp icon appear on the screen. Depending on the Lamp Mode chosen, the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector may turn off after three minutes. Sanyo PLC-XU350 Lamp Indicator, Sanyo POA-LMP131

Invest in an authentic Sanyo PLC-XU300 projector lamp and avoid the temptation to buy a cheaper priced lamp. These bargain lamps are usually counterfeit lamps and use inferior parts that can damage your projector. They may end up costing you more in the long run.

Step-by-step instructions for Sanyo PLC-XU350 Lamp replacement

Your Sanyo PLC-XU300 projector needs a Sanyo POA-LMP131. Before installation: Turn off the projector and unplug the AC cord. Allow 45 to 60 minutes for the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector to be cool to the touch. Don’t open the projector when hot since these machines operate under high temperatures and you can burn yourself.

Replacing the Lamp

Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

Sanyo PLC-XU350 Projector Lamp Cover, Sanyo POA-LMP1311. The lamp cover for the Sanyo PLC-XU350 is located at the top of the projector. Locate the screw holding the lamp cover in place found on the side over top of the ventilation holes. Loosen the screw to remove the cover.

2. Inside there are three screws holding the Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp in place. Remove all three screws. Grab the handle on the lamp cage and gently remove the lamp. Place to one side. Be sure to dispose of the lamp properly through a local recycling program.

3. Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp cage by the handle and gently maneuver it into place. Avoid touching the glass or the bulb. The lamp should slide in easily – don’t force it. Sanyo PLC-XU350 Projector Lamp Cage, Sanyo POA-LMP131

4. Once the Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp is in, tighten all three screws on the Lamp Assembly. Make sure the screws have been tightened properly or the projector will not turn on.

5. Replace the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector lamp Cover and tighten the screw.

6. Re-connect the power cord and turn on the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector. If the lamp does not turn on after the warm-up period, try re-installing the lamp. Reset the lamp hour using the Lamp Control mode found on the Setting menu.

NOTE: Your old Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Resetting the Sanyo PLC-XU350 Lamp Control Mode

Reset the Lamp Control Mode only when Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp has been replaced. Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Note: You must wait for at least 10 minutes before changing the Lamp Control mode since the newly installed lamp will need time to stabilize. While your waiting, take the time to clean the air filter as this can extend the life of your newly installed lamp.

  • Turn the Sanyo PLC-XU300 projector projector on.
  • Press the Menu option to display the On-Screen Menu. Scroll down to the Setting option. Select Lamp Control. A second screen will appear.
  • Press Point left/right button(s) to move to move the red frame pointer to Lamp counter reset.
  • Press the Select button

  • The Lamp box will disappear and the Lamp Replace Dialog box appears.
  • Select YES to reset Lamp Replace Counter.
  • There are two modes for Lamp life control. Mode 1 lets the lamp be turned on even after exceeding the recommended total hours of use. Mode 2 lets the lamp be turned on even after exceeding the recommended total hours BUT the projector turns off automatically after 3 minutes.
  • Sanyo PLC-XU300 projectors have a Lamp control that allows you to change the brightness of the screen and extend the life of your lamp.
    Normal mode allows for normal brightness
    Eco mode     lowers the brightness reducing consumptions thereby extending the lamp life.

NOTE: When you reset the Lamp Mode, the Lamp Indicator will stop blinking and the on screen Lamp Icon will disappear. Turn the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector on and let the lamp stabilize before using.

Prolong the life of your new Sanyo POA-LMP131 lamp by:

  • regular cleaning of the air filter
  • allowing the Sanyo PLC-XU350 projector to stand for five minutes before turning the projector off.

Your Hitachi 50V720 TV lamp is a easy to install. The Hitachi 50V720 needs a Hitachi UX21517 TV lamp.

The lamp life will vary based on how much you use the TV. Turning it off and on frequently may shorten the lamp life. When it’s time to replace the Hitachi UX21517 TV lamp, the LAMP INDICATOR on the TV panel will turn on and stay on. This is different when it blinks along with TEMP light after the Hitachi 50V720 TV is turned on.

When it’s time to replace the lamp the LAMP INDICATOR will not turn off. Another indication of end of lamp life is when the TV picture turns dark or the color looks off.

Be sure to buy an authentic Hitachi UX21517 lamp to avoid any damage to your TV. Counterfeits create many problems including:

Safety preparations

Before replacing the Hitachi 50V720 TV lamp, you must follow these safety rules:

Do not open lamp compartment or attempt to remove the Hitachi UX21517 unless it’s being replaced.

  • Switch off the power and unplug the Hitachi 50V720 power cord.
  • If the lamp is in use when failure occurs or if the lamp has exploded, wait at least 30-45 minutes for the Hitachi UX21517 lamp to cool before opening the lamp compartment or touching the lamp assembly or any broken pieces.
  • Broken lamp pieces can cause injury. Handle with gloves to avoid cuts.
  • Do not place any foreign objects inside the lamp compartment. You can get burnt.
  • MOST IMPORTANT: When replacing the lamp, let it cool down completely, for approximately 30 to 45 minutes after the power has been switched off and A.C. cord has been unplugged.

Replacing the lamp

  1. Turn off the main power switch and unplug the power cord. Wait at least 30 minutes to allow the lamp to cool down before replacing it.

CAUTION: The lamp is very hot and may cause fire or severe burns. Wait until the Hitachi UX21517 is cool to the touch before replacing it.

  1. Remove the screw securing the Hitachi 50V720 TV lamp cover with a Phillips head screw driver. Remove the lamp cover.

4. Remove the two screws that hold the Hitachi UX21517 lamp in place. Remove the old Hitachi UX21517 lamp unit by holding the lamp handle. Pull outwards taking care not to catch your fingers. DON’T PUT YOUR HAND into the Lamp Storage Area after the lamp is removed. You can get burnt.

  1. Replace the old lamp with the new Hitachi UX21517 lamp. Don’t touch the front glass of the new lamp as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks into the bulb and show up on screen.  Push the new Hitachi UX21517 lamp unit back to its original position. Tighten the screws firmly on the lamp unit. If they are loose, the TV may not operate correctly

6. Install the front cover back in by aligning it properly. Snap on to  quick connect and then then push inwards holding the left and right side of the front cover until you hear a snap. Push the other snap on gently to make a good fit. Tighten the screw.

NOTE: If power is connected before the Lamp Cover is installed, the power will be off and the Lamp Indicator will flash. Be sure to turn OFF the TV before replacing the Hitachi UX21517 lamp. Double check the front cover since the TV will not turn  on.
