The Panasonic PT-50LC14 is a high definition TV set which uses the LCD technology. The size of the screen is 50 inch when measured diagonally which puts it in the middle level segment. The set can be paired with a silver stand which is optional. The stand is equipped with an oval shelf to store the components and complements the set very well. The dimensions of the set are almost 56 inches in width, 35 ½ inches in height and the depth is 15.3 inches which makes the installation very easy. The weight of the set just tips the 83 pound mark.

The performance of the set, as regards to the picture quality was simply outstanding. The images were displayed with very high clarity and brightness. The wide viewing angle of this LCD TV makes it viewable from almost anywhere in front of the screen. The full native resolution of the set is 1280 by 720 which is sufficient to show all the details at 720p. Other input sources having different resolutions are scaled to fit the available pixel area. The Panasonic PT-56LCX66 is a 56 inch rear projection television set and uses the LCD technology. The set has been modest styled yet attractive cabinet. The set is very modestly priced and hence is an excellent option in case you are looking for a big screen TV set without having to churn out a large amount of money for it. The dimensions of the set are 52 inches in width, 36 ½ inches in height and 17 ½ inches in depth. The set tips the scales at around 73 pounds which is quite praiseworthy.

The Sony KDF-42WE655 is a 42 inch television with a slim tabletop cabinet and uses the LCD technology. The silver colored cabinet has been fantastically designed and has been made very compact so as to fit on the counter top or table. The dimensions of the set are 41 ½ inches in width, 32 ¼ inches in height and 14 ½ inches in depth which is quite commendable. The weight of the set is just a tad below 72 pounds and is quite astonishing considering its size.

The three WXGA chips display a total 3.28 million pixels of resolution. The twin tuners provided in the set allow the user to view two programs simultaneously at a native resolution of 480p using the picture in picture mode. The audio can be changed from on e channel to the other during this mode. The volume is automatically maintained at stable level. Hold the Vol down button on the TV and the Split button on the REMOTE for five seconds, -or- Press the Volume button on the TV while pressing hte SPLIT button on the Remote Control for five seconds

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Be cautious of replacement “lamps” or “bulbs” for the TY-LA1000 sold without the enclosure housing. Typically, buying the lamp-only is okay, as long as the customer is purchasing an original lamp. Always stay away from off-brand bulbs manufactured by OSRAM, LTI, APO, or another third-party provider for your Panasonic TY-LA1000. When purchasing just the lamp itself (even an original), it can be a hassle unless you’re fairly good with a technician’s soldering iron.

Your original enclosure has the lamp cable connectors soldered from it’s terminals to the connector plug. When purchasing just the lamp alone, you will have to cut this connector and soldering it on your new lamp. Sounds confusing or difficult?
