The Panasonic PT-61DLX76 is a 61 inch high definition TV and uses the DLP technology. Panasonic is one of the majors in the production of high definition televisions but have mostly restricted themselves to the flat panels rather than the rear projection variety. A 65” version of the same model is also available. This set though offers a very good option in case you do not want to go for the 65” version. The designing of the set did seem to be somewhat modest. A silver frame at the bottom of the screen is used to house the speakers. Below that there is another strip which is matte black and is used to conceal the controls and extra set of inputs.

The dimensions of the set are 56.3 inches in width, 39.3 inches in height and 18.9 inches in depth and weighs around 81.6 pounds which is slightly larger in comparison to other compact sets of similar size. The native resolution offered by the set is 1920 by 1080 which is sufficient to show all input signals at 1080p. Although the Panasonic PT-61DLX76 offers very high level of detail, the black levels should have been better. The accuracy of the colors too is slightly disappointing giving the set an average rating.

The JVC LT-32X776 is a high definition television and uses the LCD technology. The set has a 32 inch screen size an offers plenty of features. The high temperature color control offered the more accurate colors through component video as well as HDMI inputs. Out of the box the set offers highly accurate colors which can be measured to near about the 6500K mark. Even after the calibration the accuracy is not changed to a great extent which makes it unnecessary.

The JVC LT-32X776 is very bright which is not surprising for an LCD. This makes it ideal for viewing in the daytime or in a bright room. The speakers are situated inside the cabinet at the bottom of the screen. Overall the JVC LT-32X776 is excellent especially if you can make the most out of the features.

Hitachi 32HDL51 32 inch LCD HDTV

The Hitachi 32HDL51 is a high definition television having a 32 inch screen size when measured diagonally and uses the LCD technology. The cabinet has been elegantly designed with the use of a two tone color system. The screen is framed in black with aluminum stripes at the top and bottom edges. The stand, which is optional, is also made of aluminum. The designing errs in this case as the black parts of the cabinet are very shiny and tend to reflect any light falling on it. This can be very distracting especially in a bright room.

The native display resolution of the Hitachi 32HDL51 is 1366 by 768 although it processes the video in the high resolution 1080p format. As far as the performance is concerned, the Hitachi 32HDL51 is excellent. It produces highly detailed images with rich and vibrant colors. The contrast ratios too are commendable and the black levels are quite deep for an LCD television. Overall the set give more than an average performance.

The whole remote is backlit which makes it easy to use in the dark. The back panel of the set has a HDMI port as well as a CableCard slot which eliminates the need to go for additional set top boxes. The provision of the USB slot enables the user to view any videos or movies directly from a USB device such as the digital camera. To wrap it up the Hitachi 32HDL51 is certainly worth a look if you are looking for a moderately sized flat panel television.

JVC LT-46FN97 1080p LCD Flat Panel Television

The JVC LT-46FN97 is a 46 inch flat panel TV which uses the LCD technology. the cabinet of the set has been very well designed and is very attractive even without being flashy. The front side of the cabinet has been kept clean with the input interfaces being hidden under two removable panels at the sides. One of the panels covers the digital connections while the other covers the analog. The analog connections are located at the right side of the cabinet. This placement of the inputs reduces the interference of the leads in case you wall mount the set.

The JVC LT-46FN97 accepts high definition sources at 720p or 1080i. The Theatre mode produced the most natural images especially in subdued lighting while others modes seemed to be either too bright or too unnatural. The set has all the necessary controls required to improve the users viewing experience. The low color temperature offered reasonably accurate colors without compromising the sets otherwise very good performance. Although the black levels were not the best seem so far they were quite superior considering that the JVC LT-46FN97 is an LCD television.

A CableCard slot has also been provided with the set which eliminates the need to go in for additional set top boxes in case you are subscribing to cable TV. This LCD TV offers plenty of interfaces to hookup your devices to and yet have a few of them empty for any further additions.

JVC LT-37X987 37 inch LCD HDTV

The JVC LT-37X987 is a high definition television using the LCD technology. The first noticeable change (or feature as some may prefer to call it) is the effort that JVC have put-in in a bid to reduce the motion blur and to good effect too. it must be said though that JVC have not made the most of their superior technology.

The native resolution of the set is 1366 by 768. Although this resolution may not be the best with 1080p being the norm, for a 37 inch screen size having 1080p would not have been much of an advantage. The set also has a PC input which gives a maximum resolution of 1024 by 768 which should plenty of gamer’s screaming. The light output and the contrast ratio were reasonable for an LCD. These two factors resulted in the set producing deep black levels. JVC, though, will have a bit of work to do as far as the grayscale tracking is concerned. Even then the picture did not appear as bad as the measurements of the grayscale. The detail levels are very high and are better than most of the LCD televisions.

The remote is the standard JVC, having plenty of controls (53 to be precise) and yet just four of them are backlit. Ironically these four buttons are the ones that can be easily distinguished even in the dark. Can’t figure this one out!

The Panasonic PT-52LCX66 is a high definition TV set which use the LCD technology and has a 52” inch screen size. Even as the LCD’s continue to try and recover the lost ground from the DLP’s this TV set offers very comparable performance with a relatively thin and compact cabinet. One of the factors in favor of the LCD though is that they tend to be much cheaper than the DLP’s which makes them a favorite among the people who want a really big screen size without spending too much money on it. The compactness especially the small depth also wins quite a few votes from buyers having space constraints.

The dimensions of the set are 48 ½ inches in width, just more than 34 inches In height and 16 ½ inches in depth. The weigh t of the Panasonic PT-52LCX66 is somewhere around 68 pound which makes it quite light. The full display resolution of the set is 1280 by 720 which is enough to display all the input sources at 720p. The use of the LCD technology helps avoid the rainbow effects which are prevalent in the DLP’s. The LCD does suffer from the screen door effect in which the distance between the pixels is visible but this can be reduced and even eliminated by using the proper sitting position.

The audio system of the set does fall a little short when compared with the video quality considering that it delivers a total output of 20 watts.

Hitachi 43UWX10B 43-Inch HD Monitor

The Hitachi 43UWX10B is a high definition monitor and has a 43 inch screen size when measured diagonally. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9 while that of its predecessor was 4:3. Hitachi seems to be adopting two different strategies while manufacturing large screen as well as the moderate screen sizes which are also more convenient in smaller or medium sized rooms or houses. This set belongs to the latter with a height of 39 inches and a modest depth of just over 20 inches. The sizes may not be too amusing but the set packs in plenty of features to make you take a closer look.

This rear projection HD monitor has most of the controls required to acquire a good picture. Out of the box the set offers a decent picture although calibration may be required to get the optimum output. The display is very sharp with very little noise although a higher resolution would have made a lot of difference to the performance. The set offers very high brightness which may even allow you to use it in your backyard.

The built in speakers are attached inside the cabinet at the bottom of the screen and offer very good quality sound. The speakers though could have been much better considering the amount of space at their disposal. The Hitachi 43UWX10B offers plenty of input interfaces to accommodate plenty of gadgets and still have a few empty slots for any further hookups.

The Panasonic PT-52LCX15-B is a rear projection TV set which has a 52 inch screen size and uses LCD technology. The cabinet has been very well designed to make it look attractive. The widescreen is framed in silver with a black panel below the screen used to house the internal speakers. In an unprecedented move Panasonic has also provided a silver stand with the set which can also be used for keep different components.

The dimensions of the set are 48 ¼ inches in width, 35 ¼ inches in height and the depth just touches the 17 inch mark. The set tips the scales at just about 77 pounds.

The native resolution of the set is 1280 by 720 which is enough for it to display all input content at 720p. Inputs from the sources having any other resolution will cause it to be scale to fit the available pixel area. Overall the Panasonic PT-52LCX15-B gives extremely bright picture with high amount of detail. The colors are very rich and natural and high level of contrast gives a superior viewing experience.

The internal audio system too is quite good and proves to be quite sufficient. The twin internal speakers provide a total output of 30 watts. The picture in picture or the split screen functionality does not require additional tuners. The Panasonic PT-52LCX15-B offers plenty of input interfaces to connect your external devices to.

Panasonic PT-50LCX64 50-inch LCD HDTV:

The Panasonic PT-50LCX64 is a high definition TV set which uses LCD technology and has a 50-inch wide format screen. The silver cabinet has been very well designed and is very compact. Inspite of the compactness Panasonic has managed to pack in plenty of features to give the user a better viewing experience. The set has a very narrow base with speakers on the either side of the screen.

The dimensions of the set are 55 ½ inches in width, 35 ½ inches in height and 15 ½ inches in depth. The set tips the weighing scales at a tad less than 85 pounds, which is quite remarkable for a set that big. The native resolution of the set is 1280 by 720, which quite the norm is for Panasonic. It will certainly be worth taking a look at their 1920 by 1080 models, which is also known as 1080p. All the signals are subjected to the line-doubling feature to create progressive scan images.

The audio is provided by the couple of inbuilt speakers, which deliver a total output of 30 watts (15 X 2). The Panasonic PT-44LCX65 is high definition TV set with a 44 inch screen size and uses the LCD technology. The set is very compact inspite of its large screen size and is yet packed with plenty of features that the other models lacked. The cabinet of the set has been very well designed. It is predominantly black in color and houses four speakers.

The dimensions of the set are 41 ½ inches in width, 30 ½ inches in height and the depth is less than 15 inches which is quite a feat to achieve for the size of the set. It tips the scales at 69 pounds which makes the installation easier. The native resolution of the TV set is 1280 by 720 which is capable of displaying all the input signals at 720p. Overall the performance of the Panasonic PT-44LCX65 is quite amazing with sharp and bright images. The contrast levels too are very praiseworthy. The black levels for an LCD are very deep and offer high details which are suitable for viewing HD content.

The audio quality is superb and does well to keep pace with the smooth flow of the videos. The set provides four internal speakers instead of two which is the norm.
