Pre-installation preparation:

1. Turn off the projector power and wait for the cool-down period which is about two minutes. Disconnect the power cord after the two minutes is over.

2. Wait at least 30 minutes to one hour for the Epson EMP-600P projector to cool internally before opening it up. It should be cool to the touch.

NOTE: Do not operate the projectors while the lamp is removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

To install:

Use the screwdriver provided and place it into the slot so the Epson EMP-600P lamp cover lifts up. Hold the raised section of the lamp cover to slide it forward and remove it from the Epson EMP-600P projector.

Loosen the two screw holding the Epson ELPLP15 lamp in place.

Grab the two indents on the sides of the Epson ELPLP15 lamp and pull from the projector. Take care not knock the actual bulb as it may break. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP15 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Hold the lamp so it faces the correct way and insert the Epson ELPLP15 lamp until it clicks into place. Tighten the screws.

Insert the cover tabs into the Epson EMP-600P projector. Press the other side of the cover until it clicks into place. You are ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Epson EMP-600P lamp timer

The lamp timer will need to be reset after replacing the Epson ELPLP15. This timer helps the Epson EMP-600P proiector to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the Epson EMP-600P lamp timer when a new Epson ELPLP15 lamp has been installed, otherwise the projector will NOT know when it’s time to replace the lamp. You run the risk of damaging your projector.

Press the MENU button on either projector’s control panel or on the remote control.
The MAIN MENU will be shown.
Using the arrow keys scroll to Reset Lamp Timer from the ABOUT menu.
Press the ENTER key.
A second prompt screen will be displayed.
Select YES to EXECUTE.
Press the ENTER button.
The lamp hours will be rest to zero.

Step 1: When to replace?

You can expect 1900 hours of lamp life with the Epson ELPLP34 when the Brightness Control is on High. If the Brightness Control is on low, you can expect 2900 hours of lamp life.

Watch for the warning signs that the Epson ELPLP34 needs to be replaced in the Epson EMP-X3 projector:

Step 2: Have your replacement lamp ready

To keep your Epson EMP-X3 projector working at its optimum levels, be sure to install an authentic Epson ELPLP34. These OEM laps has been given the seal of approval by Epson.

Why avoid generic lamps when their discount prices seem like such a bargain? Although advertised as “generic, OEM compatible, these lamps are not the bargain they seem. Copy-cat manufacturers have created generic lamps using inferior parts that damage the inside of your Epson EMP-X3 projector. Generic lamps also come with a health risk; they often created with highly toxic substitutes such as Krypton-85.

Step 3: Install the Epson ELPLP34

Before installation:

Turn off power switch on the back of the Epson EMP-X3 projector. The confirmation buzzer will sound twice.
Disconnect the power cable
Allow the Epson EMP-X3 projector to cool for one hour. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

1. The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson EMP-X3 projector. Loosen the lamp cover screw — you can’t remove it only loosen it.

2. Slide the Epson EMP-X3 projector lamp cover off.

3. Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP34 lamp in place.

4. Grab the Epson ELPLP34 lamp by the two indents on the lamp. Gently remove the lamp. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP34 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

5. Gently insert the Epson ELPLP34 lamp making sure it’s facing the right way.

NOTE: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

6. Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP34 lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the Epson EMP-X3 projector lamp cover.

8. Reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer on the Epson EMP-X3 projector

Reset the Epson EMP-X3 projector Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP34 lamp has been replaced.

Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
Scroll down to the RESET. Press ENTER.
Click on RESET ALL.
A prompt appears asking if you want to replace the lamp.
Select YES and press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

How to set the brightness mode

Press the MENU button on the remote control.

Replace the Epson EMP-82 projector on 3 easy steps by following this easy guide.

Step 1: Have your replacement lamp ready

You can expect 1900 hours of lamp life with the Epson ELPLP34 when the Brightness Control is on High. If the Brightness Control is on low, you can expect 2900 hours of lamp life. Scroll down for instructions on how to reset the Brightness Control.

Be prepared to change the Epson ELPLP34 lamp by having your replacement lamp ready.

Buy authentic

Be sure to purchase an authentic Epson ELPLP34 being sold by an authorized manufacturer. Look for the seal of approval. OEM manufacturer’s offer technical support as well as a money back guarantee. These are also the lamps Epson recommends and the ones that will keep your warranty valid.

Why avoid generic lamps that are sold at discount prices? These lamps are not the bargain they seem. They are created using inferior parts that damage the inside of your Epson EMP-82 projector. Disconnect the power cable
Allow the Epson EMP-82 projector to cool for one hour. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

1. The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson EMP-82 projector. Loosen the lamp cover screw — you can’t remove it only loosen it.

2. Slide the Epson EMP-82 projector lamp cover off.

3. Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP34 lamp in place.

4. Grab the Epson ELPLP34 lamp by the two indents on the lamp. Gently remove the lamp. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

5. Gently insert the Epson ELPLP34 lamp making sure it’s facing the right way.

NOTE: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

6. Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP34 lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the Epson EMP-82 projector lamp cover.

8. Reset the lamp timer.

Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.

Select YES and press ENTER.

Press MENU on the remote control to open up the main menu on the screen.
Use the up/down arrows to scroll down to the SETTINGS option. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to the Brightness Control. Press the UP arrow to change the option from Low to High or vice versa.
Low Brightness Mode uses less electricity and has less fan noise. Your lamp will last longer.

Step 3: Installing a new Epson ELPLP34 lamp

Get prepared for the installation:

Switch the power on Epson Powerlite 76c projector button off.
Unplug the power cord.
To avoid getting badly burned, allow the Epson Powerlite 76c projector to cool for one hour. This projector operates under very high temperatures and need time to cool down.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson Powerlite 76c projector. Loose the screw holding the lamp cover in place. Use the screw driver that came with your projector.

Slide the Epson Powerlite 76c lamp cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP34 lamp in place. The screws will not come out all the way. Use the screw driver provided with the Epson Powerlite 76c projector.

Using two side indents, grab the Epson ELPLP34 lamp. Gently pull up to remove the lamp. Be sure to pull up straight so you don’t knock the lamp on the side of the projector and cause it to break.

Learn what to do when the bulb breaks.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP34 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Make sure the Epson ELPLP34 is facing the correct way and slowly push it into the projector. Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

Tighten the screws on new Epson ELPLP34 lamp when it’s fitted properly into the projector.

Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the Epson Powerlite 76c projector lamp cover. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Epson Powerlite 76c Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP34 lamp has been replaced.

Press the MENU button on the remote control.
Scroll down to the RESET option. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to Reset Lamp Hours.
Press ENTER.
A Reset Lamp hours screen will appear.

The Reset Lamp hours will appear after you choose the Reset Lamp Hour option.
Click on YES. Press MENU.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.
