Replace the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 HQV lamp cover making sure it’s clicked into place. Otherwise, the projector will not turn on. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Usage Timer.

Resetting the Lamp Usage Timer

It’s important to reset the Lamp Usage Timer so the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 HQV projector will know when it’s time for a new Epson ELPLP39 lamp.

Press the MENU button on the projector or remote control.
Navigate to the RESET menu. Select Reset Lamp Hours option. Press SELECT.
A confirmations screen will pop up on the screen. Highlight YES and the SELECT to reset the hour.

press the power button and wait for the light to stop flashing.

Press the latches holding the Epson V11H289020 lamp cover in place. Gently lift off the cover and place it to one side.

Using the screw driver provided, loosen the two screws securing the Epson ELPLP39 lamp. They won’t come all the way out so simply loosen them enough so the lamp can be lifted out.

Grab the bottom of the Epson ELPLP39 lamp and pull it up with a straight motion. Be sure to properly dispose of the old lamp. Do not throw it into regular garbage as it contains mercury.

Replace the Epson V11H289020 lamp cover making sure it’s clicked into place. Otherwise, the projector will not turn on. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Usage Timer.

Reset the Lamp Usage Timer

It’s important to reset the Lamp Usage Timer so the Epson V11H289020 projector will know when it’s time for a new Epson ELPLP39 lamp. Resetting the timer before installing a new Epson ELPLP39 can cause serious damage to your projector.

Plug the projector back in.
Turn on the power switch on
Press the Power button and wait for the Epson Home Cinema 108o to warm up.
Press the Menu button on either the projector or remote control.
Scroll down to the Reset menu option.
Select Reset Hours.
A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to reset the hours Click on yes.
Press the Select button.
Press the Menu button to exit.

NOTE: A reading of 0H on the lamp usage timer means you’ve used less than 10 hours of lamp time.

Step 1: Be prepared

Knowing when to replace the Epson ELPLP39 lamp is the first step. There are a few warning signs that the lamp in the Epson EMP-TW1000 is reaching end of life.

the picture gets darker and continues to deteriorate
the message “Replace the lamp” appears on screen when the projector is turned on.

Line up the EMP-TW1000 cover hinges with the projector and place the lamp cover into them. Slide the lamp cover back down and click it into place. You’re noew ready to reset the lamp operating timer.

Resetting the Lamp Operating Timer

The Lamp Operating Timer determines when the Epson ELPLP39 lamp is reaching its 1600 hours end of life. Only reset this option when you have installed a new lamp otherwise you run the risk of using an older lamp past its recommended usage. This can cause the old lamp to explode.

To reset the Lamp Operating Timer:

Plug the power cord back into the projector
Press the on button and wait for the projector to warm up.
Press the MENU button to display the CONFIGURATION MENU.
Scroll down to select RESET menu.
Scroll down and choose RESET LAMP HOURS option
Press ENTER.
The reset lamp hour message will show up.

Select YES
Press ENTER.
Lamp hours will be set to zero.

Replacing the lamp in your Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 doesn’t have to be difficult. Just follow this pictorial 3-step guide to a new lamp.

Step 1: When to replace?

The Epson ELPLP39 lamp lasts up to 3000 hours. Use the Info menu to see how many hours are left until the Epson ELPLP39 reaches end of life in the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080.

Typical warning signs include:

an image that deteriorates and becomes quite dark.
a red flashing light on the projector that blinks every few seconds — this is the lamp warning light.
a message: “Replace the lamp” flashes on the screen when you start using the projector.

Replace the Epson ELPLP39 immediately when you see any of these signs.

Step 2: Avoid generics

Look for the seal of approval when you purchase your lamp. Line up the new Epson ELPLP39 lamp and slide it into Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080. Avoid touching the actual bulb since the oil on your finger can cause black spots on the lamp when it heats up.

Once in place, tighten to screws on either side of the Epson ELPLP39 lamp.

Replace the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 lamp cover making sure it’s clicked into place. Otherwise, the projector will not turn on. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Usage Timer.

Resetting the Lamp Usage Timer

It’s important to reset the Lamp Usage Timer so the Epson PowerLite Pro Cinema 1080 projector will know when it’s time for a new Epson ELPLP39 lamp.

Press the MENU button on the projector or remote control.
Navigate to the RESET menu. Select Reset Lamp Hours option. Press SELECT.
A confirmations screen will pop up on the screen. Highlight YES and the SELECT to reset the hour.
Press the MENU button to exit.
NOTE: The lamp usage times shows 0H until you’ve used the lamp for at least 10 hours.

Resetting the timer before installing a new Epson ELPLP39 can cause serious damage to your projector.
