Make sure the back cover is tight also, there's an interlock switch that prevents the TV from being turned on while the cover is off.

Identical TVs...Different Bulbs

I own two of the HLR4667WAX/XAA TVs, bought at different times. I keep a used lamp on hand as a temporary spare while waiting for a replacement to be shipped...it came out of TV1. I had a problem with TV2 (randomly shutting off, no other failure indications at all) so I wanted to swap the lamp first...

Because you did have the TV on for 24-48 hours straight at times is most likely why it did last over 21000 hours. Most failures (for most any device) will occur when tranistioning between states....off-to-on, etc. Leaving it on saved it the "shock" of starting.
