DMD board replacement did not fix issue.

I have an HLP5063WX/XAA. I have been having some issues with the screen - whenever there are moving frames in the tv show, movie, what have you, the screen shakes. Kind of like when you tried to get a glimpse at the porn channels when you were a kid, but the image didn't come in clear enough haha. Anywho, i replaced the DMD board, and the issue persisted. I also replaced the lamp. Suggestions!?!?!?

I dont think my last post was displayed, weird.

I think we can attribute this to the digital video board, the main input board or the colorwheel.



To begin trouble shooting you can check for sounds like winding screeching low or loud sounds coming from a spinning colorwheel, that might indicate that its bad and time to replace it.

To differentiate between the digital video board and main input, can you tell me if it is happening on all analog and digital inputs? say an RCA or Coaxial input and an HDMI or DVI ..

I don't hear any whistling, winding or screeching noises, so i guess that rules out the color wheel? I don't have a way to test HDMI at the moment, [b]but it seems to be happening with just the analog inputs[/b]. I'm actually not sure what you mean by digital inputs to be honest. I also tried plugging in an old sega genesis, and i got no picture at all. It requires a coaxial for that. There's a chance i just didn't connect it correctly, but I'm pretty sure i did. You think it's worth buying and replacing 1 board at a time to see where the problem lies?

Before you start throwing money at it with new parts and replacement boards, I would make sure you have cleaned it to spotless condition inside, and pull out the color wheel and inspect it for a missing segment or other damage. While damaged color wheels will almost always make terrible noises, I have found one or two that were merely a tiny bit louder, as it had dropped only one small segment. Of color wheel is 100%, then look for bad capacitors (the top will bulge) and suspect your boards.
