Samsung HLR6768WX/XAA
purchased Aug 2006
After a power surge in my home the colors on the TV screen looked really off, so I turned off the TV. When I press the power button, I hear a loud vibrating sound for a while, then the chimes, but no video. The process repeats a few times only to end with all 3 power button LEDs on.
I looked at the color wheel last night and verified it is broken.. shattered to be more exact.
Any recommendations on what to use to remove glass shards? A vacuum cleaner seems too big, and would create a lot of static...
Any recommendations on how to clean the rubber cushion along the perimeter of the color wheel heat sink?
If any glass "dust" is left in the encasing, coud it damage the new color wheel?
Also, is there a trick to removing the copper ribbon? My connector is quite snug.
I used the guide below as a reference:
Thanks for your help!
