My Samsung HLR6167W is getting white dots!

Hello, I have had my 61inch DLP for almost 5 years with no problems...until now. I am getting more and more tiny white dots on the sceen (they seem to be in a fixed position). I have been told it could be the DLP chip, the DMD board or the digital video board. Can anyone narrow this down for me? I am hoping to buy the part and install it on my own. Thanks!
