Problem with SAMSUNG DLP HLN5065WX/XAA

I bought a SAMSUNG HLN5065WX/XAA 50" DLP TV about 4 years ago. Recently I started having the following symptoms:
- When I power the set up, it makes a funny whining noise and I get no picture.
- The Green "lamp" light on the front flashes.
- The picture never comes on
- It does this three times and fails.
- After the third failure, All three lights on the front (timer(green), lamp(green), temp(red)) flash
- After a minute or two all lamps go out and tv is powered off.
I've read various sites. Some point to the lamp, some point to the color wheel, some point to the DMD board. I don't mind trying to replace one but I'd like it to be the right one. Football season starts in a week and I don't want to watch on the non-hd 25" screen. Any ideas would be appreciated.
