Fan type noise HLP5063wxaxx

I have a hlp 5063WX/AXX.I started hearing a whirling noise like a fan. The TV would start turning off by itself but turned right back on when I press the power button. After reading many of the posts on this site I think it may be a colorwheel. The TV is starting to turn off more and more now. Sometimes it works for 4 hours and the turn off every 5 minutes and something it turns off after 10 minutes. One thing I have not read on all the posts is Does the color wheel still turn after the TV is turned off? After the TV turns off (by itself) I can hear the whirling noise for about 5-10 seconds before it stops. Am I on the right track with the colorwheel? I have had no trouble with this TV until now except I have replaced the bulb once. I would appreciate any advise that anyone can give. I do not want to buy a colorwheel (if I can find one) if I am on the wrong track. Thanks in advance!!
