TV won't turn on. Thinking its the Lamp.

Hello,

I have DLP 42in Samsung HLR 4266WX/XAA. About a week ago, the tv stopped powering on. Upon powering it on, I noticed that the 3 LED lights were on, the Samsung timer, the Standby, and the lamp light. No picture came up on the screen. Instead, a loud humming noise came on. I looked in the back and I couldnt see any indication of the lamp light being on.

We've had this TV for about 3 years now and have never replaced the lamp. We are thinking this could be the lamp but we aren't sure? Do you have any suggestions?
