Samsung HLN5065WX Lamp Question

Postby SamsungDLPTV » Sat Jul 23, 2011 1:33 am

TV is about 3-4 years old. Last week the thing suddenly turned off own its own. All lights on the front flashed (Timer - green light, Lamp - green light, Temp - red light). Turned it off, turned it on, tried to turn on but then, same thing. So I replaced the lamp. Lamp was def. blown! New lamp in casing, in TV. So, I turn the TV on and the lamp turns on for a little bit but then system turns off and Lamp green light flashes along with Temp red light on front of TV. Removed lamp, checked all the screws, connections, etc. Unplugged TV, plugged it back in, turned back on, same thing. Unplugged, plugged back in, now nothing happens, just the lights on the front of the TV for lamp and temp. I cannot turn the TV on by the side power button unless I unplug the TV and plug it back in.

I have no idea what to do at this point. Any ideas??

Thank you so much!

Hello,
Sometimes the lamps ballast goes out after you replace the lamp. The ballast essentially is responsible for powering up the lamp, since it is the second most popular consumable part in your TV, I would strongly advise you consider replacing it. It is relatively inexpensive and easy to do, there is a guide on this site http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/guides.php

Hope this helps!
