Bad Picture

Postby jpa » Tue Apr 28, 2009 9:29 pm

I picked up a used RCA DLP M50WH74S that needs work. The picture is dim, flickers, doesn't seem to have color, and the power indicator flickers 4x then steady for about 10 sec before repeating. The whirring noise from the fan that cools the bulb seems to change pitch when the lamp is flickering. Would the symptoms indicate a bad bulb or something else like the power supply? How hard is it to test the supply?

well you're going to need a voltmeter and you can check your power supply, if its giving you a reading from 300-350 volts..then your power supply y working propertly

Have fun n_n
